Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Jillian McCarthy is currently a project associate at Mish New York in Manhattan. She recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Marist College with a B.S. in Fashion Merchandising and a B.A. in Italian with a business minor. During her undergraduate career, she spent two years studying between Florence, Italy, and Taormina, Sicily, and two years on campus in Poughkeepsie, New York. This unique experience has allowed Jillian to explore the fashion industry in two very different ways- through European culture and through individualism championed in the American market.
She is the author of The Vintage Mindset, publishing this December 2020 through New Degree Press. In her debut book, she focuses on the current state of the fashion industry and consumer mindset around the vintage market and aims to answer the question: If there are not enough brands that can effectively appeal to and convince enough consumers to purchase their sustainable products how else can the industry and our planet as a whole have a future?
